Here I am in my natural habitat ;)..

My past clients will tell you that I get a bit excited when I am taking photos. I absolutely love it. But I do appreciate that having your photos taken for the first time is a bit daunting. Especially when your photographer likes to hide in the bushes...

I have tried to answer a few FAQs below

WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?

I love taking natural, lifestyle photos outdoors and in your own home.  I like to combine both natural moments with a few beautiful portraits where everyone is looking at the camera (for their Grandchildren one day!).

Sometimes during the session I am active in posing you which helps at first when everyone is feeling a bit awkward, and then as we relax into the session and if you have kids I end up chasing them around for a bit or capturing them as they explore, or get involved in a game of seeing who can jump the highest. By the end of the session we have a nice combination of individual portraits, group portraits and candid moments.

Sessions generally last 1 hour. I have always found that is the perfect amount of time and don't even have to look at my watch as just know that we have got the best out of everyone and its time to head back to the car. If longer is needed, we spend longer. There isn't a cap on timing.

CAN I BOOK IN AT THE WEEKEND?

Yes, you can book in on both Saturdays and Sundays

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR / STYLING TIPS?

I suggest plain, neutral colours such as white, cream, grey, brown, blue, burgundy, olive & mustard but bright colours are always fun if they reflect your personality. Wear similar tones. For instance, don't put yourself in black and your children in white. Please don't wear any fluorescent colours as they reflect on skin tones. Please also avoid clothing with logos/foiling.

Please feel free to bring a change of clothes. Also, you could bring a hat along as a cute accessory for a different look.

You could also consider the colour scheme of the room where you are going to display the photos at home so that your decor all ties together. Maybe this is too OTT! But I notice all my photos at home are fairly neutral. I like to see photos as art.

I always love a floaty dress to add some movement to the images.

It is nice for your kids/all of you to be barefoot during some of the session.

If you have a toddler/baby girl, use a nappy cover so we don't get any peaks of the Pampers in the photos. Another little tip for toddler/baby girls is not to have a top or dress with too-high a neckline. Somehow it detracts from their face. I love the beautiful dresses with frilly shoulder straps. Next have some amazing pieces at the moment and Zara is always a winner! Obviously this is more of a summer tip and I equally love babes all wrapped up in cute scarfs and hats for the autumn/winter.

Make sure you cut out the hanging ribbons that are sewn in under the arms sometimes so they don't pop out during the photos.

Finally, I always check, but please make sure you aren't carrying any keys/phones in your pocket as you can see them in the photos. I will take these from you and carry them in my camera bag/or carry your bag during the session.

DO YOU BRING PROPS?

Yes, I have a wooden crate, wooden steps and a blanket which I always bring along. I have some other props too including a vintage mini suitcase which can be carried or used as a seat and a few vintage chairs and a sofa which I keep in storage. I can quote you to bring these along as an extra as I need to arrange a man-with-a van. The vintage sofa is amazing for a large family group shot.

WHERE SHOULD WE TAKE THE PHOTOS?

I have many beautiful favourite spots around Surrey which I will recommend based on where you live. If you have somewhere special to you in mind, even better.

I also can take photos in your home which is wonderful if you have a new baby. I love the newness of bringing a new baby home. You have nested and neatened and everything feels very special and new. I remember those times with my children so clearly. Obviously I know this is real life and no-ones home is a show home, so I help you tidy and neaten and move the 'real life' bits out the way as we go.

WHAT TIME OF THE YEAR IS BEST?

There is something magical and unique about every season. Bright spring mornings, golden summer evenings, rich autumnal colours and crisp, bright winters. Any time is a good time, I even love rainy day outdoor photos, snuggled under umbrellas.

Rest assured, that if the weather really isnt looking favourable, then we will re-arrange the date.

DO YOU PROVIDE PRINTS?

No, I provide high resolution digital photos by email. You can then send these photos to friends and family and print them as many times as you wish.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECIEVE MY PHOTOS?

You will receive the proofs within 7 days and the final edited photos within 10 days of selection.
